GIVE GOD A CHANCE…Part 2

Hello Chosen People of God in Jesus Christ. As promised, we conclude with the second part of this passage today…
*John 9:1-12*
Along the way, Jesus saw a man who had been blind since birth. His disciples asked him, “Master, why was this man born blind: because of his own sin or because of the sin of his parents?” Jesus replied, “It is neither because of his sin nor because of the sin of his parents. *He is blind so that the work of God can be manifested in him*. While it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. The night is approaching, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world. After saying these words, Jesus spat on the ground and made a little mud with his saliva; he rubbed the eyes of the blind man with this mud and said to him: “Go and wash your face in the pool of Siloam. – This name means “Sent”. – The blind man went there, washed his face and, when he came back, he saw! *His neighbors and those who had seen him begging before asked*, “Isn’t that the man who sat down begging?” Some said, “It’s him.” Others said, “No, it’s not him, but he looks like him.” And the man said, “That’s me.” They asked him, “How then were your eyes healed?” He replied: “*The man called Jesus* made a little mud, he rubbed my eyes with it and said to me: “Go to Siloam and wash your face.” I went there and, after washing myself, I saw! They asked him, “Where is this man?” – “*I don’t know*”, he replied.
Our reflection this morning is centered on the last verse of our text: *”I DON’T KNOW”*.
Like this man, many people on earth are still ignorant of the One who has already paid the full price for their salvation, of the One who gave them the breath of life and keeps them alive, the One to whom we will all give account.
Jesus Christ worked a miracle in the eyes of this man, but He replied afterwards: *”I don’t know”* that He is or where to find Him. *”I don’t know”* where to find it. He opened my eyes, but *”I don’t know”* where to find *”that man”*. As if to say he’s a stranger. Yes, Jesus Christ is still an unknown and foreign God for many people. It still remains a myth and mystery for so many people.
For many people and families, Jesus Christ still remains a mythical, fictional, imaginary character, an ancestor of the Jews, a Prophet or white philosopher, to mention only that.
Yet He is the Savior of all mankind. He is verily the Lamb of God sacrificed in our stead to take away our sins, to deliver us from the power of Satan and the power of sin, in order to make us *God’s* saints* on earth, *His well-deserved children. beloved, His Redeemed, His elect, His ambassadors and ministers (agents) of reconciliation* on earth. And that’s what we are, because He did succeed in His mission before His ascension, and He’s coming soon to take us away. Let’s make a stopover in the scriptures before continuing:
1) *”The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and he said, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. And I saw, and bore record that he is the Son The next day John was still there with two of his disciples, and having looked at Jesus passing by, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God”*, you
John 1:29,34-36.
2) *”For sin shall have no power over you, since you are not under law, but under grace”*, Romans 6:14.
3) “Grace to you and peace from God the Father and from *our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, to deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father”*, Galatians 1:3-4.
4) *”If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who gave us the ~ministry of reconciliation~ For God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, imputing not their trespasses unto men, and he hath put within us ~the word of reconciliation~. Now are we ~ambassadors for Christ~, as if God were exhorting through us; we implore you in the name of Christ: Be reconciled to God!”* 2 Corinthians 5:17-20.
5) *”Beloved, See how much the Father has loved us! His love is such that we are called children of God, and that is what we really are. This is why the world does not know us: it has not known God. My dear friends, we are now children of God, but what we will be is not yet clearly revealed. However, we do know this: when Christ appears, we will become like him, because we will see Him as He really is. Anyone who has such hope in him keeps himself pure, as Jesus Christ himself is pure. Anyone who sins opposes the law of God, for sin is rebellion against that law. You know, Jesus Christ appeared to take away sins and there is no sin in him. Thus, whoever remains united to him ceases to sin; but he who continues to sin proves thereby that he has not seen him and has not known him”* 1 John 3:1-6.
Ehmmm I love the gospel. It is my joy and my passion. But you see, those who are still blind cannot understand these things, that’s why they see those who have surrendered to Christ as crazy and confused, for them they have *”brainwashed us”*. Yes, they may be right because the gospel has actually washed away our ignorance and enlightened our brains.
IN CONCLUSION, the problem with many, just like that man in John 9, is that they are still blind.
Remember that this man was born blind. That’s why he didn’t know who Jesus is or where to find him? Do you know that Jesus Christ is found in His Word; the gospel and that He is your Redeemer? Yes Christ is in us who have received the gospel.
Spiritual and mental blindness is more dangerous than physical blindness, many are victims of it and it is what prevents them from being saved.
Note that we are all born spiritually and mentally blind, but the grace of salvation opens the hearts and minds of those of us who receive the gospel.
A mentally blind person does not understand the scriptures, does not understand the gospel and twists its meaning.
A spiritual blind man lacks the revelation of Christ. He does not know who Jesus Christ really is, how to follow him, how to seek or serve him, where to find him. He does not know who God really is. And that is why have the multiplicity of gods, and mix God with the tradition and customs of men.
May God open our eyes, hearts and minds in the Name of Jesus Christ.
*”However, if the Good News that we announce seems obscure, it is only for those who are lost. They do not believe because Satan, the god of this world, has blinded their minds. This god prevents them from seeing the light shed by the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the very image of God, for in our preaching it is not ourselves we proclaim, but Jesus Christ as Lord; to us we declare to be your servants because of Jesus*, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.
Good reading and good digestion in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
I love you all !
